As part of the United Nations’ “Our Common Agenda” initiative, the Zimbabwe Centre for Futures Research (ZiCFR) incorporated the five key foresight elements into its work:

  1. Anticipation: ZiCFR utilized cutting-edge foresight methodologies to identify emerging trends, analyze potential disruptions, and anticipate future challenges and opportunities facing Zimbabwe.
  2. Resilience: By fostering a culture of strategic foresight, ZiCFR empowered organizations and communities to build adaptive capacities and robustness to withstand and recover from shocks and stresses.
  3. Solidarity: Through collaborative scenario planning and stakeholder engagement, ZiCFR promoted a shared understanding of Zimbabwe’s collective futures, strengthening solidarity and collective action.
  4. Inclusion: ZiCFR’s futures research and strategic planning processes actively involved diverse perspectives, ensuring that marginalized voices were heard and that solutions were equitable and inclusive.
  5. Innovation: ZiCFR remained at the forefront of innovation in futures research, constantly exploring new tools, technologies, and approaches to support Zimbabwe’s transformation and development.
